Making Sense of The Crisis – Transport Special

Making Sense of The Crisis – Transport Special.
Transport Workers, Trade Unionists and Activists come together.

Thursday May 28th – 7.00pm

Transport workers have been disproportionately affected during the crisis with bus and coach drivers more than twice as likely to die from Covid-19 than the average male and five times as likely as the average female.

Horrific cases such as railway ticket office worker Belly Mujinga, 47, who died of coronavirus after being spat at while at work at Victoria Station in London, are now etched in our memories. We need to fight for justice for all those who lost their lives too soon.

The Government should extend the £60,000 NHS death-in-service payments to transport workers and we need to push to ensure all transport workers are sent to work under safe conditions with adequate PPE.

Speakers
Mick Cash RMT General Secretary
Unjum Mirza – Train Driver, Brixton Depot and Aslef Branch Chair on the Victoria Line
Amanda Logan, London Bus Driver, Unite the Union Member
Host: Laura Pidcock – People’s Assembly National Secretary

Tune in Live Thursday 28th May at 7.00pm on The People’s Assembly Against Austerity Facebook page or on our Youtube Channel.
